Why Brow Lift

With aging we develop horizontal wrinkles in our forehead vertical lines between our eyes. In addition, the position of our eyebrows drops and causes hooding of the eyes due to excess skin.
Many active, health-conscious women and men are bothered by droopy eyebrows and horizontal forehead creases that make them look tired, angry, or sad no matter how happy and rested they really might feel.
The goal of a forehead or brow lift should be to correct these changes giving a natural-appearing result. Over correction of the brow position can give an unnatural, startled appearance and must be avoided.
The brow lift can also correct “heavy” looking eyebrows, which is a common occurrence in older patients. Dr. Osmanoglu‘s natural-looking results reflect his attention to aesthetics, as well as his extensive training and skill.

Candidates For Brow Lift

Brow lift surgery typically benefits both women and men in their 40′s to 60′s who are unhappy with a sagging eyebrow area, hooding of the upper eyelids, and horizontal forehead creases. If you are balding or have a receding hairline, Dr. Osmanoglu can alter the procedure, for example by moving the incisions further up into the scalp, to accommodate your individual physical features. If you’ve already had upper eyelid surgery, the doctor may need to modify the procedure as well.
The procedure usually takes about 2 hr. It can be performed under conscious sedation or general anesthesia. Together with Dr. Osmanoglu, the appropriate anesthetic plan will be determined.
Down time is minimal after a browlift, and most patients should be able to return to work within a couple days. Headache is a common complaint after the procedure but is easily controlled with over-the-counter or prescription pain medications. Swelling and bruising is minimal. The sutures or staples are removed within 10 days.
